Description
Our client is a highly respected name within the construction and civil engineering industry, renowned for delivering complex projects to the highest standards. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Planner to join their team and support both tender and construction programming across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Bid Manager, the Planner will be responsible for producing detailed and accurate tender and construction programmes, ensuring all project timelines, resources, and logistics are well planned and communicated. This role will involve close collaboration with the pre-construction, estimating, and operations teams to ensure each project is delivered efficiently, safely, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
·Prepare tender programmes and convert them into detailed construction and contract target programmes.
·Develop and monitor construction schedules in collaboration with the Operations Team.
·Review project constraints and logistics to prepare effective build strategies.
·Prepare Preliminaries, including risk management and programme notes.
·Liaise with the Estimating Team, design managers, and supply chain partners to ensure buildability and sequencing align with tender requirements.
·Identify and record project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
·Conduct critical path analysis and resource allocation to support delivery planning.
·Provide programme training and mentoring to team members where required.
·Support quality submissions, including preparation of build strategy diagrams and methodology statements.
·Promote health, safety, and environmental best practices throughout all planning activities.

About You
Essential Criteria:
·Proven experience in construction planning and programming.
·Sound knowledge of building types, structures, and construction sequencing.
·Proficient in Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project, or similar planning software.
·Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
·Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
·Strategic thinker with the ability to problem-solve and find efficient build solutions.
·Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
·Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
·Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
·Experience working on a range of commercial, residential, and civil infrastructure projects.
·Experience with civils, drainage, and large-scale developments.
·Up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices in planning and project management.
