- Job Title: Senior Civils Quantity Surveyor (Water/Utilities) - Highlands of Scotland

Job Description: I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civils Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in the Highlands of Scotland. In this role, you will play a vital part in the successful delivery of water and utilities projects, ensuring cost control, efficient procurement, and accurate financial reporting. As a senior member of our team, you will provide guidance and leadership to the quantity surveying team, ensuring projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
·Manage all aspects of the quantity surveying function for water and utilities projects in the Highlands of Scotland.
·Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
·Review project specifications, drawings, and contract terms to identify potential risks and opportunities.
·Oversee the procurement process, including the selection of subcontractors and suppliers, negotiation of contracts, and evaluation of bids.
·Monitor project costs, variations, and change orders, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost control.
·Collaborate closely with the Project Management team to provide advice on contractual matters, cost management, and procurement strategies.
·Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
·Lead and mentor junior Quantity Surveying staff, providing guidance and support throughout Projects.
Requirements:
·Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
·Extensive experience in Quantity Surveying within the Civil Engineering or Construction industry, with experience in water and utilities projects preferred.
·Strong knowledge of Scottish construction contracts and regulations, including NEC and JCT.
·Proven track record in managing and delivering multiple projects within budget and to strict deadlines.
·Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
·Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including cost estimation and project management software.
·Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) is highly desirable.
