Description
My Client, a market leading civil engineering contractor has developed a strong reputation in their sectors of expertise. Working across a number of arenas such as highways, infrastructure, civils and structures they have developed a number of pioneering solutions to their project delivery. Based on their success they have been awarded a number of high profile Projects. Keeping a focus on their continued growth and success they have identified there is a need to recruit an experienced Civils Estimator into the successful commercial team. Based out their office in Aberdeenshire, the successful candidate can expect to make a genuine impact on the business and be offered a number of career enhancing opportunities.

Position: Estimator
Location: Aberdeenshire


Job Description:
  • Review as requested estimates / information from subcontract so as to ensure it adequately caters for the work being proposed.
  • Analyse and evaluate contract performance and budgets in accordance with systems and procedures.
  • Provide information as necessary to Commercial Director for inclusion in reports to Board of Directors
  • Ability to secure and meet targets as set to them by the business in a work winning capacity
  • Prepare valuations including for any additional works.
  • Work closely with and report to the Project Manager/s to ensure the approach is aligned with the business requirements.
  • Review tender enquiries and price ensuring client needs are addressed.
  • Raise any technical queries in a timely manner ensuring return deadlines are met, communicating effectively with the client where extension is required.
  • Produce weekly / monthly and quarterly reports for the Project Manager/s to be communicated and delivered at commercial team meetings. .
  • Supporting clients during the tendering period including attending site as required.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Obtaining supplier / sub-contractor quotations and negotiating within specified deadlines.
  • Have a strong commitment to customer service.

The ideal candidate for this Estimator role will have the following :
Experience in the civil engineering market sector
Ability to communicate at multiple stakeholder levels, both internally and externally
Experienced in competitive bidding
Possess the ability and confidence to price projects of multiple values with minimal supervision
HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent
