Description
The Role

C&P Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading construction business to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager for their numerous pipeline of projects in the North of Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager to take responsibility for overseeing projects from pre-construction through to handover. You will act as the primary point of contact for project delivery teams, ensuring that all builds are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery
• Oversee multiple construction sites from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with design specifications, agreed deadlines, budgets, and financial targets.
• Monitor project progress and address risks, issues, and delays proactively.
• Maintain high standards of quality throughout the construction process.

Team Leadership

• Lead, manage, mentor, and support Project Managers and Site Agents.
• Promote a high-performing, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
• Provide guidance and support to ensure teams meet project and business objectives.
• Encourage continuous improvement across project delivery operations.

Commercial Governance

• Work closely with the commercial team to monitor budgets and financial performance.
• Manage variations, costs, and contractual requirements effectively.
• Identify opportunities to maximise profitability and improve project outcomes.
• Ensure accurate forecasting and financial reporting across projects.

Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance

• Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards across all sites.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant legislation, and industry best practice.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture across project teams and supply chain partners.

Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
• Coordinate project stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
• Represent the company professionally at meetings and throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve issues promptly and maintain strong communication across all parties.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Experience working for a tier-one or major regional contractor.
• Strong sector knowledge across build or infrastructure projects, (Commercial, Education, Healthcare
, Civils)
• A strong track record of managing multiple projects and complex supply chains.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop project teams.
• Excellent commercial awareness and an understanding of budgets, variations, and profitability.
• A valid CSCS card.
• SMSTS certification.
• A degree or HND in Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience.
• Professional membership, such as MCIOB, would be highly desirable.
