Description
Site Engineer - Energy & Utilities

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading engineering and construction contractor delivering major energy, utilities and infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Civil Engineer with experience working on complex projects within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contracting environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of civil engineering works, supporting design coordination, subcontractor management, quality control and successful project completion.

What you will be doing:
·Review tender documentation and electrical requirements to develop energy and utilities tender packages for potential subcontractors.
·Provide technical input into the review and assessment of subcontractor tender submissions.
·Liaise with electrical and civil design teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
·Manage interfaces between the client, designers and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
·Review and quality control civil designs prior to submission to the client.
·Coordinate and manage civil engineering input into client and utility design review processes.
·Work closely with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor to prepare subcontract packages.
·Support the project management of civil subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
·Coordinate with electrical design and construction teams to ensure successful integration and handover of civil works.
·Identify, manage and communicate variations to the project QS in a timely manner.
·Liaise with civil subcontractors regarding variations, design changes and re-design requirements.
·Ensure compliance with client management systems and contract requirements.
·Manage civil subcontractors, consultants and site teams.
·Support the development and performance of project teams and individuals.
·Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

You will ideally have:
·A degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Energy Engineering or Renewable Engineering.
·Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Civil Engineer for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
·SMSTS qualification (essential).
·Experience in setting out, design coordination and AutoCAD.
·Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction processes.
·Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
·A keen eye for detail with a focus on quality and safety.
·The ability to build strong working relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
·A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a high-performing team.
·Willingness to travel as required.
