- Exciting opportunity for an experinced Estimator to join a multi sector main contractor within The East of Scotland and the Central Belt.
C&P Recruitment is delighted to bring this new and exciting opportunity to market on behalf of a well-established and hugely successful main contractor.
Our client is looking to attract an experienced Estimator capable of managing and controlling new build commercial and new build residential development. You will also be able to liaise with other Department Heads to ensure all business objectives are met, able to motivate a team and continually develop staff. To recognize this there is an extremely attractive package on offer. With the opportunity to progress this is unique opportunity for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
·Attending and inputting to bid launch meetings.
·Reviewing bid documents and developing a bid strategy to give a competitive edge.
·Producing market competitive, nett cost estimates for bids in line with the RMS.
·Carrying out accurate quantity take-offs for the purposes of estimating where required.
·Checking externally produced bills of quantities for accuracy.
·Pricing groundworks, drainage, sub-structure, masonry, joiner work and partitions from first principles.
·Preparing and issuing sub-contract and material enquiries.
·Liaise with the procurement department to obtain material quotations.
·Inputting into gateway documents and gateway review meetings.
·Establishing value engineering opportunities.
·Establishing risks and inputting to project risk register.
·Preparing and checking tender letters, technical notes, and qualifications for issue.
·Capturing data and preparing benchmarking reports to support bids.
·Ensuring all key estimating data is effectively transferred to the delivery team at handover stage.
