- I am currently working on behalf of a large construction company based in West Lothian who are currently looking to expand their in house Bid Management Team.
This client has successfully won and delivered on major projects across central scotland and has experienced massive growth and the bid team have played a crucial role in delivering this success.
The client is open to experience levels for this particular role and will consider graduates.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fully appreciate client requirements and be able to produce documentation and responses that demonstrate a sound understanding and technical knowledge of our sector
- Effectively co-ordinate and liaise with clients, internal business development and operational teams to develop and write bespoke, high quality, successful submissions that demonstrate a clear understanding of PQQ and ITT questions
- Write clear, focussed and logical proposal material and any other business development documentation ensuring consistency of style, content and message
- Produce specific case studies for supporting submissions
- Robustly review responses against the scoring matrix and criteria provided
- Use technical knowledge to prepare and deliver persuasive bid presentations to prospective clients’ pre and post tender
- Prepare bid stage method statements, programme proposals and technical explanation proposals
- Maintain the Bid Pipeline process in conjunction with bid team colleagues
- Support the Business Development Team in the preparation of marketing literature
- Ad hoc duties as required.
Essential:
- Demonstrable strong creative writing and verbal presentation skills
- Excellent grasp of the English language and grammar
- Strong attention to detail including excellent proof-reading skills
- Excellent computer skills with advanced MS Word and a strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Good business acumen.
- Minimum of two years direct experience of proposal, bids and tender writing within a fast paced office environment
- Thorough understanding of the bid process
- Working knowledge of electronic tender platforms
- Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Desk top publishing skills
- Knowledge of the energy/environmental and/or construction sectors.
Essential:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Construction procurement background
- Marketing or Sales qualifications.
