I am seeking a skilled and experienced Civils Ganger to join my Client based in the Highlands of Scotland. As a Civils Ganger, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and leading a team of workers engaged in various civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of construction sites, adhering to health and safety regulations, and delivering projects to the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
·Lead and supervise a team of construction workers, including groundworkers, machine operators, and general operatives.
·Coordinate and allocate tasks to the team members, ensuring the efficient use of resources and meeting project deadlines.
·Monitor and enforce health and safety regulations on-site, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
·Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of project requirements.
·Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications, taking corrective actions when necessary.
·Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide regular updates on progress and address any concerns or issues.
·Operate construction equipment and machinery, as required.
·Train and mentor junior members of the team, fostering their professional growth and development.
Requirements:
·Proven experience as a Civils Ganger or in a similar supervisory role within the civil engineering or construction industry.
·Strong knowledge of civil engineering techniques, materials, and methods.
·Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
·Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
·Proficient in operating construction equipment and machinery.
·Understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce compliance on-site.
·Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
·A valid driver's license and any necessary certifications for operating construction machinery.
