- Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor seeking an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic bespoke joinery manufacture and fit-out business? Look no further! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our client's business based in Edinburgh.
Company Overview: Our client is a leading bespoke joinery manufacture and fit-out business, specializing in crafting high-quality, custom-made joinery products for commercial and residential projects. Job Role: Quantity Surveyor as a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of their projects. Your primary responsibility will be to manage all costs related to their projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. You will work closely with their clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for prospective projects.
• Conduct thorough cost analysis, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing for materials, labour, and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide cost advice during the design and planning stages.
• Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and expenditure to identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and final accounts to clients, ensuring timely payment.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible terms and prices.
• Provide regular reports to management on project financial performance and cost forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably within joinery and fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, measurement, and valuation techniques.
• Proficiency in using relevant software and tools such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional accreditation or membership with relevant industry bodies is advantageous.
