Job Purpose
The Plumber will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of plumbing work within social housing properties. The role ensures that plumbing, heating, water, and drainage systems are fully operational, safe, and compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
·Conduct inspections and diagnostics in properties to identify and rectify plumbing faults or issues.
·Repair or replace defective plumbing systems, including pipes, taps, toilets, sinks, radiators, and water heaters.
·Install new plumbing fixtures and systems as required to bring properties up to standard.
·Ensure all systems comply with relevant safety regulations and building codes.
·Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future problems.
·Liaise with other tradespeople, contractors, and housing staff to coordinate repair work efficiently.
·Work within agreed budgets while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
·Maintain accurate records of work completed and provide updates to the Maintenance Supervisor.
·Adhere to all company health and safety procedures at all times.
·Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring communication with tenants, staff, and contractors is clear and professional.
Skills and Qualifications
·NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing, or equivalent qualification.
·Previous experience in plumbing within a social housing or residential setting (highly desirable).
·Sound knowledge of plumbing systems including heating, drainage, and water supply.
·Experience working in void properties and an understanding of the associated challenges.
·Familiarity with building regulations and health & safety standards.
·Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
·Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
·Full UK driving licence (required).
