We are excited to be working with a leading multidisciplinary main contractor based in Glasgow, currently seeking a talented and experienced Construction Buyer to join their growing team.
Position: Construction Buyer
Location: Glasgow
Experience: Minimum 5 years in buying/procurement
About the Role: As a Construction Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients projects by managing the procurement of materials and services. You will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure that all materials are purchased on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Source and procure materials, equipment, and services in line with project requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
• Collaborate with project teams to forecast material requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier agreements.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction buying/procurement.
• Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of construction materials, services, and suppliers in the Glasgow area is a plus.
