Description
Our client is a highly specialist sub contractor to the Construction Industry.

With contracts throughout the UK, and extremely developed relationships with virtually every main contractor, our client requires a QS who has recently graduated or preferably with 1-2 years experience operating in a sub contracting environment. Training and support will be available and this may suit an "entry level" candidate with the right drive and determination to succeed and forge a successful career in Quantity Surveying.

You will be based in their brand new, purpose built premises near Broxburn.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will potentially be involved in a wide ranging variety of tasks to include but not limited to the following:

  • Preparation of estimates, bids and tenders.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for ongoing and upcoming contracts.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly applications for payment to the Client/Client’s representative.
  • Submit invoices for certified valuations, ensuring payments are received on time.
  • Value and authorise payments to sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with Commercial Manager to establish project specification and requirements.
  • Monitor contract progress and assist with reporting and assessing changes that may affect project costs and or time scales
  • Dealing with customer enquiries over the phone and via email
Key skills and Qualifications
  • Hold a relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
  • Ideally with some experience within a specialist sub contractor background
  • IT literate
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred but not essential
The successful candidate will be nurtured within an experienced commercial team and excellent "on the job" training will develop your skills and abilities in a very short space of time.
Excellent communication goes without saying as well as a drive to succeed and work in an extremely fast paced environment.
