Description

Job Description

Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Site Engineer to join their dynamic team in the East of Scotland. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating site operations, ensuring that all civil engineering aspects of their clients new build housing projects are executed to the highest standards.


Key Responsibilities

• Setting Out: Accurately setting out and levelling the site in accordance with the project plans.

• Quality Control: Monitoring and inspecting all site work to ensure compliance with design specifications, regulations, and best practices.

• Technical Support: Providing technical guidance and support to the site team, subcontractors, and suppliers.

• Health & Safety: Enforcing and promoting a strong health and safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

• Project Coordination: Liaising with project managers, architects, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.

• Reporting: Preparing daily/weekly site reports, documenting progress, challenges, and solutions.

• Material Management: Coordinating the procurement and use of materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality.


Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the new build housing sector.

• Skills:

o Proficient in setting out using total stations, GPS equipment, and other surveying tools.

o Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

o Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

o Effective communication and leadership skills.

• Certifications: Valid CSCS card. SMSTS or SSSTS certification is desirable.

• Technology: Familiarity with CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
