As they continue to grow, they are seeking a talented and motivated Construction Buyer to join our dynamic team.
Job Description:
As a Construction Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of construction materials, equipment, and services required for their projects. Your primary responsibility will be to source and negotiate with suppliers, striving to obtain the best value for money without compromising on quality. You will work closely with the Project Managers and the Procurement Manager to align purchasing activities with project requirements, budget constraints, and delivery schedules.
Responsibilities:
Identify and develop relationships with reliable suppliers, ensuring a diverse and competitive supplier base.
Evaluate suppliers' quotations, negotiating terms and conditions, and securing favourable agreements.
Collaborate with Project Managers to understand project requirements and create comprehensive procurement plans.
Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
Stay updated on market trends and industry best practices, utilizing this knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
Handle contract management and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations to maintain a high standard of supplier service and product quality.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies within the procurement function.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Construction Buyer or a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to obtain favourable terms and pricing.
Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and related services.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software is an advantage.
A degree or relevant qualification in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field is desirable.
