- Description
- We are currently looking for a Paraplanner in Edinburgh for a growing financial services provider.
The successful candidate will start as a Paraplanner with a view to being an IFA in 12-18months.
You will be fully supported with exams and training for this.
Role overview
Working closely with and supporting the Independent Financial Advisers, by preparing and maintaining clients files, completing whole of market research to enable a recommendation to be made, preparing application documents and producing an appropriate suitability letter
Responsibilities
The role will typically include :
• Working closely with IFA's to support client work. Liaise with the IFA's and use Fact Find
documentation to progress client work.
• To carry out Whole of Market research to explore options for clients and establish which is the most appropriate approach for each client
• Must maintain a good knowledge of compliance and regulatory responsibilities to ensure that we operate at all times within the requirements of the FCA
• Produce clear, easy to understand reports that explains the suitability of the recommendation being made.
• Submission of applications and subsequent resolutions of any issues that arise to ensure the work is completed correctly and in a timely fashion.
• Prepare for client reviews and produce analysis of performance including cash flow forecasts
• Support the firm as required at industry meetings, client meetings and in the development of junior employees
• Review and comment on individual reports
Skills required
·Organised - capable of dealing with several tasks in parallel
·Numerate - have good analytical skills
·Excellent standard of written & verbal communication; Attention to detail
·Ability to interpret data and produce recommendations with supporting evidence
IT Literate and be competent in the use of:
• Report writing software, PPOL preferable, including TVAS facility
• Morningstar or other industry analysis tools
• Back office systems, Intelliflo preferable
• Cash flow forecasting system, preferably Select a Pension system
• MS Office
A good team worker, capable of working with and supporting other members of a small, tight-knit team to deliver optimum results.
Qualifications/knowledge/experience
Essential
·Qualified to Level 4 Diploma status or working towards this qualification.
·Maintain a strong CPD log
·Experience within an Independent Financial Advisers firm
